ICI to open mid January 2010

icitsangFinally got over to Harbord and Manning to see how ICI Bistro is doing now that its got a liquor license. J.P. Challet’s partner Peter Tsang was in the kitchen = Ici doubles as JP Catering — and he says the bistro won’t be open til mid January at earliest. Lots of work to be done bringing the place up to code.

It was Sunday so I didn’t see any students from next door Harbord Collegiate smoking on the street and chuggalugging cokes and pepsis and  eyeing ICI’s wine list hopefully as deputy mayor Joe Pantalone has predicted. Maybe the school can add a class in French cooking…

You’re as big of an idiot as Pantalone is. School kids don’t buy $9 glasses of wine. For $9 they’ll buy a six pack & drink in the alley.
